" I have been training Ju-Jitsu for more than 8 years. It’s
one of the toughest form of martial art that I've ever experience. In the art of Jujitsu, techniques being taught include joint locks, chokeholds, takedowns, grappling, striking
and throwing. About a year ago, I experienced a set back during practice whereby I was
trying a new throwing technique and accidentally pulled my right hip. I
couldn't move for days. My normal activities were limited due to the pain. I was suffering from the injury where it affected everyday activity such as walking,
lifting, and standing.
After neglecting my condition for 5 months and thinking that
it will eventually go away, I was referred to Dr. Nguyen through a friend at
work. I thought Chiropractor only specialized in back injuries, but I was wrong. During my first visit
with Dr. Nguyen, he evaluated my hips and determined
that I had a partially torn my right Psoas muscle. He explained that since the right hip
flexor had been damage for over 5 months, my muscle has developed scar tissue, causing it to be weak and restrictive to normal everyday functions.
My first treatment with Dr.Nguyen’s Active Release Technique
was around 25 minutes and it was really sore. I didn't think what he was doing would work, but after the treatment, I can't even tell you
how happy I was to be able to stand without holding on to something for
support. I was able to do a full squad without falling over. Dr. Nguyen
then used Kineseo tape like the one they used on Olympians to taped my right
hip and lower back to give me additional support.
After two months of seeing Dr. Nguyen, I re-gain full range
of motion and strength to my right hip. I was able to practice Ju-Jitsu and competed
in two tournaments. Without his help and knowledge about the body biomechanics,
I don't think I would recover this fast and continue to do what I love. "
