Injury

“During my most active years in college, I injured myself at the gym doing squats and dead lifts without proper rest and form. The moment I injured myself, I knew that something was seriously wrong so I went home immediately and expected to feel better the next day with a night's rest. However, in the morning, I was not able to properly get out of bed and had to crawl out. Although, the pain was severe I did not go to the doctor until days later. The injury is best described as a herniated disc in my L5/S1 lumbar. The herniation in my disc was rubbing down my sciatic nerve on the right side and had severe pain from my gait to my toes. The doctor recommended I go to a Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapist offered minimal help to my injuries and my walk was inhibited. Thus, there is pain every time I got out of my car. Over time, I was able to manage the pain, but there was significant damage to my body."

Treatment

"Dr. Nguyen was able to diagnose my pain during his studies at Palmer Chiropractic via multiple examinations. He is able to locate my pain, adjust, and correct the damage that I experienced years ago. He was, also, able to identify imbalances in my gait and was able to recommend foot levelers, in order to correct these imbalances from bottom to top. Dr. Nguyen was able to follow up on treatments to not just locate the pain in my sciatica, but able to identify my scoliosis as well. More importantly, he takes a balanced approach, which integrates treatment for your body, recommendations on how to take care of your body, and how to sustain your overall health. Dr. Nguyen is a practitioner of Chiropractic care as well as a practitioner of health and well-being, first and foremost."

Active Release Technique

“Dr. Nguyen balanced approach incorporates an Active Release Technique, which is a methodology whereby breaks up scar tissue built up over years of misuse, re-educate, and re-train the muscles in the body to perform exercises in the correct form. Also, it helps to facilitate the body’s natural healing process. After a number of treatments with this methodology, my shoulder felt more mobile and stronger overtime. My rotator cuff and AC joint issue has been plaguing my life and well being for some time.  With his focus and awareness on sports health and techniques, he was enable to relate, understand and diagnose patients on a different level, that which sets him a part from other doctors in this field.
